About Nepali Calendar System
Nepali calendar which is also known as Bikram Sambat calendar is the official calendar system of Nepal. It is about 56 years and 8 months ahead of the most common western calendar, which is the known as Gregorian Calendar or AD (Anno Domini). Nepali year starts from middle of April.
In Nepali language, calendar is called Patro. So, Nepali calendar can also be called Nepali Patro.
Current year in Nepali calendar is Bikram Sambat 2083.
History of Bikram Sambat
The Bikram Sambat (or Bikram Samvat) calendar is a traditional calendar widely used in Nepal and some parts of India, especially in the Hindu and Sikh communities. It is a lunar-solar calendar based on ancient Hindu systems.
The calendar is named after King Vikramaditya, an ancient Indian ruler credited with initiating this calendar system.

What does the event's text color in the calendar mean?
We have color coded the event names to make it easier to understand. Here's what they mean-
Full black: Not a public holiday
Full red: Either a public holiday or weekend
Partially red: Holiday for a specific location or a community.
Is Nepcalendar available in Nepali language?
Yes, Nepcalendar can be viewed in Nepali language as well. To switch between English and Nepali language, click on the language links given on the top bar.
How do I see all the events for any particular date?
Simply click on the date cell in the calendar table and you'll be taken to the section where you can see all the events listed for that day.
